Kenneth Lambert, Battalion Fire Chief for the Bedford Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, and the husband of Mrs. Lambert, ISS at Bedford High School, has been nominated for America’s Most Wanted’s ALL-STAR Heroes Award for his courageous efforts last year in assisting a bus driver who was experiencing medical issues while transporting kids in Monroe, Michigan.
Go to the website www.amw.com/allstar to read Ken Lambert’s full story. Where it says “Search Nominees” put in “Lambert” and it will take you to his picture and story. Read at least four other stories. If you were to vote, which one of the five stories you read would you vote for and why? Could you see yourself risking your life for someone else? You can then VOTE for the All-Star Hero if you choose.

I voted for Kenneth Lambert due to his bravery to board the bus and changeing his main priority to the children when he was on the bus.

If I were to vote for any of the nominees I would have to vote fo mr. Mcrae. Who is a police officer who saved many peoples lives. He portrayed many heroic charecteristics in a stressful situation and deserves recognition. If the time came where I had to risk my life for another persons I honesly believe I would under proper circumstances. For instance I would not
ReplyDeletefool heartdly risk my life if there was no way to save anothers. Tanner DuVall
of coarse lambert the other ones i saw where killing a criminal while getting shot twice then as on the ground he got pumbled by a mob thats not heroic he just got wounded im not saying it was easy getting shot is hard enough but twice jeesh he had a bad day but as i was saying that wasn't herotism just a purple heart.

I think that officer Joe Young at the Fredericksburg police department in Fredericksburg, VA because he has an exciting story about he tryed stoping the shooter even though that one of his partners was shoot and killed and was laying there right in front of him and he still had the courage to go after the shooter and they finally cornered him and he was arested a and sent to jail.
ReplyDeleteIf I were able to vote for any of the nominees i would have to choose Michael Moore. I would choose him because he helped a ten year old girl with her bully problems. Her bully was another ten year old girl that was in her class the girl made a wed site called "22 disturbing ways to kill my classmate". I think this is a horrible thing for a little kid to do and i am happy that Michael Moore stopped it before anything else happened.

I have read the stories of these heroes;
ReplyDeleteKenneth Lambert
Sandy Yelton
Kervin Johnson
Chris Iorio
Wilbur Matthews
And I choose to vote for Chris Iorio because he protects the lives of innocent children in the sex crimes unit in Sarasota, Florida. He has put some of the worst pedophiles behind bars after nineteen years of service. Captain Rick Mottola, Sergeant Iorio's supervisor said this of him; "His knowledge, experience and commitment is highly impressive. Our agency – but mostly our community - is fortunate to have him working on behalf of the children here in Sarasota County."

I read information on five different nominees, they were: Kenneth Lambert, Thomas Peterson, Charlie Hammock, Ron Wolf and Michael Moore. If I were to vote for one it would probably be Charlie Hammock. He was simply a volunteer firefighter at his local fire department, when he was called to the scene of a fatal accident. When he arrived he found out that he had known one of them since they were born and the other was his cousin. He had to tell the victims parents. He wanted to quit his job, but he didn't. Then not to long after the accident, he was called to a school bus and truck accident, little did he know his son was on the bus, so he had to save his own child. I could see myself risking my life to save someone. It would depend on the situation, but yes, I could see myself risking my life.

i would vote for lambert because his action seems a lot more important than other i mean he saved thirty two lives thats a lot and he was risking his own all at the same time. i think i would try to save somone if i ever get the chance because my life isnt that good so idc if i were to die and i would just like somone else to live

I had Read five different people up for the AMW all star heroism award, Kenneth Lambert, Dennis Fiscus, Tim Garr, Tim Bartenslager, and Thomas Patterson. The person who I would vote for would be Kenneth Lambert, because he risked his own life to rescue 31 children and a bus driver, who went unresponsive at the wheel due to medical conditions. His co-worker jumped on the side of the bus and climbed through the window, and Lambert got in through the back. They then called for an ambulance and everyone was OKAY. Yes, I can see myself doing something heroic, and if it means at the cost of my life, I wouldn’t mind, because those people have there lives to lead, and it would be a shame for them to die before they had the chance.

ReplyDeleteI picked Howard Cole he is a Homicide Detective in St Augustine, FL. He is very smart and put murderers in jail. He was assigned investigating the disappearance of Alicia Eakins. She was reported missing in March 2000. Detective Cole's determination and perseverance paid off on March 28, 2008 when the suspect, Ralph Faba confessed to her murder and led Investigators to her remains.

I read eight or nine entries. While it's impossible to say that all of the people who were nominated aren't heroic or cool, I really have a hard time picking one. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that these people have a passion and love what they do. It's just... why do they need an award to commemorate their time spent or specific acts done? Does anyone agree with me?

I read a lot of profiles and although all of them are pretty brave, no really brave.I would have to choose Ray Wolfenbarger of the South Bend Police Dept.,because he was shot not once, but 3 times tring to save some one from being hit by a car and from doing so suffered permniate leg injuries.
ReplyDeleteBut what really got me was that although he was hurt, he continued to be a cop and even advance on his education in fire arms ,to further pertect the people he loves and befriends daily.

I found many of the stories moving. Remember you are to list the ones you read then state who you would vote for. Mrs. Lang
ReplyDeleteIf I were to vote for anyone of the men and women that go out day after day and put their lives on the line to save others I would vote for Kenneth Lambert, because he showed great courage and detirmination in order to save the lives of not just the children and the driver of the bus but also other people around. I read the stories of Kenneth Lambert, Susan Porcello, Joseph Burlew, Tim Shields, and Russ Fenner.

ReplyDeletemy vote goes strat to Ken Lambert. he saved about 32 lives at one time, that is a true hero to me. he risked his life to save these kids. i'd risk my life for family and someone that i cared a whole lot about.
ReplyDeleteI do think that all the people that I read about were considered 'heroes' but I do not believe that they all did the things that they did because of some kind of an award. When a person does something heroic, they don’t stop to think “whats in it for me?” and if that does cross their mind then they shouldn’t win anything. All the stories that I read were great examples of people that should be recognized for what they did, but not to get and award, or to be publicized for a few days.
ReplyDeletewith the amount of people saved at one time (32) and being a hometown hero, i think keneth lambert has my vote.
