  1. I myself have never participated in "sexting" but I do know those who have. Many of these people are my friends male and female however I do feel as though their actions are vulgar in nature and are not appropriate.

  3. I believe that those girls in Pennsylvania should go to a juvenile detention center, and the boys over seventeen should be tried as an adult. They may be sending nude or semi-nude pictures, but it can wait till after marriage in the privacy of there own home, not in the crowded halls of high schools. Also, “sexting” can cause a person to fell embarrassed and ashamed, which can lead to suicide, which is worse then sending all “sexters” to jail or juvi. I think it was also smart that the one coach in Greensburg sent the football player to the juvenile detention center because he found a picture on his phone. All teachers and family members need to crack down on kids cell phones and tell them to give the phone to them, so they can check out what pictures are on the phone, and if any are semi nude, or nude, they should be sent to juvi

  5. i do not participate in sexting but i have been sent numerous nude pictures, unasked for. i don't believe its right to send a minor to a detention center of any kind. people are wasting their time to get minors behind bars instead of locking up murderers, and people who actually DESERVE to receive a felony.

  7. I have encountered several people that have sexted and have recieved sexts. I do believe that they are vulgar, and should not be shared over the phone. I think that being charged for semi-nude pictures is a little over the top. They would have to arrest evey woman in america for semi-nude pictures if they wear a bikini!

  8. I have personally never participated in the whole "sexting" thing, but I do know of people who have, and I believe it is beyond inappropriate. Though I think it is inappropriate, I don't think they should be punished, this takes things over the top. If I was sent a picture, I would just delete it. There is no sense in telling an adult and making the scene bigger then it needs to be.

-Zachary- As far as parents and, especially teachers, taking phones away from their children and students, I think that is over the top. Having a cell phone is one of the few pieces of privacy a teen has. Personally, I pay for my own phone and my parents can't take it away from me. And under no circumstances should a teacher be able to go through a students phone, randomly, to see if there are nude pictures. Teachers can take the phone away, if the student is texting in class, but they should not be able to go through its contents.

  10. i agree with brandyn,
i do not ask for nude picks or send nude picks but sometimes i randomly recieve them. people just send them around and i feel its not right to even ask for them. you shouldnt be put in jail, i feel a warning would scare a person enough.

  13. i agree with most people that posted teen sexting is bad and unacceptable. its not smart to do. if i get a bad picture from someone its not because i asked its because the other person likes to make the other persons lives misserable
i would never ask for a picture from anyone.

  14. everyone does it. its pathetic how people are flipping out on little things like this when there are bigger things in the country and world that we need to put first. they cant do anything about it, so why not let it go...it could be as bad as underage sex. they do nothing about that. i dont think its a big deal, its just teenagers looking for attention.

  15. I have never got involved in sexting but i know people that have. There is nothing wrong with sexting if you are older them 18, but people still do it. There will be a time that everyone does it but i think that should be a restriction to it some how.

  16. I think that people who get involded in "sexting" are easy and have no self respect. Yes, it is bad and shouldnt happen, but it will always happen as long as it is readily available to them.

  17. First of all I think that the statistics showing the number of teens that are involved in “sexting” is outrageous. I have never sent a nude picture of myself but I have been asked to send picture to different guys, but I never fell into that trap. I believe that girls and guys should respect themselves and their bodies. I have even had friends ask me to send pictures of myself to guys pretending that I was them, so that the guy would like them and if you have to be someone else just for a guy to like you then he shouldn’t be worth it.

  18. This article is very intriguing and pretty perverted but it brings only one question to my mind: why were the subjects only girls? Apparently only girls send nude photographs of themselves to other people. I’m sure there have been cases where a boy took photographs of himself and sent them to other people. I’m just trying to break the gender binary by saying this [just a thought]. If you are to be ‘rehabilitated’ or ‘fixed’ through counsel or therapy because you sent a sext then a LOT of people are guilty of being ‘Public Perverts.” But the truth is, it isn’t public. Nobody else, if the picture handlers make it so, ever has to see the photograph. It’s for… personal pleasure. Like homemade pornography. People aren’t being sent to jail for that, so why should they get in trouble for sexting?

  19. I myself have never "sexted" and I think that this is absolutely vulgar and extremely demeaning to yourself. I personally would be kind of mad at them, because it is not even close to being cool to do.

  20. I agree that sexting is a bad thing to do and and should be punished, but not by law. If some one gets caught doing it they will be labled a sex offender and that would follow them for the rest of their lives. Yes it is serious, but no that serious. If anything is to improve it is the parent's watch over what the kids are doing with thier cell phones. Parents need to explain the consequnces and the punishments of this to their children.
